It’s crazy how origin stories are created. Two friends in the United States FaceTimed one another to stream something and accidentally called the entire group. The third friend joined, and somehow, the discussions shifted to how they could drive change and have an impact on the community when it came to education. Notes were poorly drafted upon a plain napkin (like most great ideas), and the rest is history. What started as an accidental group phone call led to the formation of the Neopte Foundation.

The Neopte Foundation derived its name from the Neopetalia Punctata, a dragonfly that is endemic to Argentina and Chile. The dragonfly often symbolizes transformation, change, and hope, which plays a major role in the work that we do.

With a goal of ensuring youth from low-opportunity backgrounds have the ability to pursue higher education (university and trade school), the Neopte Foundation seeks to be a driving force for education and beacon of hope across the United States.
